When you select the map under your pet on the My Pets view, you will see an estimate of your pet’s distance from you (when they are near you), as well as their last known location. You will also be able to set a virtual leash or start a walk. The Pawscout Map also lets you find pet-friendly businesses.
Please keep in mind that the Pawscout Tag itself does not include GPS capabilities. Rather, the Pawscout Tag connects to your phone via Bluetooth and leverages the GPS capabilities of your phone to determine the location of your pet. This range is approximately 300 feet outdoors. Please remember that this feature is not intended for and does not work well indoors.
The map view above will tell you when your pet is near someone with the Pawscout App. When your pet is near you, you will see the approximate distance between your pet and your phone. If your pet is not near anyone with the Pawscout App, Pawscout will show your pet’s last known location. Learn more here.
Pawscout now enables you to explore the Pawscout Map in satellite mode.
A green circle indicates that your pet is near a Pawscouter, and shows your pet’s approximate location. When your pet is near you, Pawscout tries to determine the distance between your phone and your pet.
To protect the privacy of our users, if your pet is near another Pawscouter who is not a Guardian or Pet Parent, we can only show the approximate location of where the Tag was detected. As a result, you will not see the distance between the pet/phone when your pet is near another Pawscouter. Inviting family, friends, neighbors, and caretakers to become Guardians will give you more location data for your pet!
The image above shows the last-known location of your pet. If you leave home and your pet stays home, you will see a grey circle for your pet at home because this is the last place a Pawscouter, you, detected the Tag.
