When a fellow Pawscouter or concerned citizen approaches a Pawscout pet and are concerned the pet may be lost, they can notify the owner via the Pawscout App. If you receive a notification that someone found your pet, then someone encountered your pet and believes they are lost.
If you happen to receive a notification that someone found your pet, but your pet is with you, that’s okay! The rescuer is probably worried your pet is lost. You can get in touch and let them know everything is fine, or report your pet as safe as shown below.
If your pet is lost and the rescuer has created a Found Pet Post for your pet, be sure to select Report (Pet) As Lost (see red button in image above) when prompted. After doing this, you will be able to see the Found Pet Post for your pet, and you and the pet's other Pet Parents will receive an alert.
All Pet Parents will see each action taken on the Found Pet Post, and will be able to contact the rescuer directly from the Found Pet Post if the rescuer leaves their contact details.
