Pawscout has made it easier for you to communicate with fellow Pawscouters. Pawscout Direct Messaging works in two ways:
1on1 threads with any Pawscouter
You can message any user by simply going to their profile and selecting the Message button towards the top of the screen. All of your threads/pet chats will be displayed in your Notifications tab. Here, you can mute/unmute a chat, see members in your pet chat, and see photos that were sent in each chat.
Pet Chat Room
When you have added a Pet, and when a Pet Parent or Guardian has accepted your invitation for your pet, Pawscout will automatically create a chat room for all Pet Parents/Guardians associated with the pet.
Q: Can I delete myself from a Pet Chat Room?
A: No, not without withdrawing from being a pet parent/guardian. You can mute the chat if you don't want to receive notifications about this pet.
Q: Where can I find my Pet Chat Rooms and 1:1 threads?
Four ways:
- Notifications → Envelope icon top left → Pet Chat
- The Feed → Small envelope icon on the top left of screen (and through notification on screen when you receive a message)
- My Pets → Envelope icon on top of pet tile (group chats only)
- Pet Profile → Pets&Actions → Pet Group Chat (group chats only)
Q: Can I create a pet chat manually?
A: No, it's created automatically. Currently, group chats are only available to the Guardians and Pet Parents of a specific pet, but you can always message users individually by going to their profile and selecting the Message icon.
