Are you unable to activate Virtual Leash? Is Pawscout unable to locate your pet when they are anxiously standing right in front of you? This article can help! Remember, Pawscout will only show nearby showing an approximate distance from you when your pet is within your Bluetooth range.
First, select “My Pets” from the bottom menu in the Pawscout App. Choose your pet from the list. If you see “Can’t Find a Tag” but your pet is with you, please tap on “Can’t Find a Tag” to help you resolve the issue.
Selecting “Can’t Find a Tag” will ask you whether your pet is safe with you:
NO - This will encourage you to create a Lost Pet Post for your pet. We will guide you through the steps to make the best Lost Pet Post possible.
YES - Your pet/tag is near you. We will guide you through steps to help the Pawscout App locate your Tag. Please be sure that
- Bluetooth is enabled on your phone,
- Locations services for the Pawscout App are set to ALWAYS or ON, and you
- have the latest version of the Pawscout App available on Google Play or App Store.
You will also have the option of performing a Self Check on nearby Pawscout Tags. If you select this option, the Pawscout App will scan for nearby Tags. All working Tags will appear as PAWSCOUT-TAG. Closer Tags will display higher signal strength. When a PAWSCOUT-TAG is selected, Tag Details will show if the Tag is assigned to a pet or ready to pair.
