Pawscout App
Pawscout Tags can only be paired with the Pawscout App (Download the Pawscout App). Attempting to pair your tag through the Bluetooth interface will NOT work. Please make sure Bluetooth is turned ON for Pawscout, but do not attempt to pair through your Bluetooth settings.
And don’t forget: Pawscout works best when your pet has a caring safety net. Once you’ve made your pet’s profile and paired their Tag, invite trusted friends, family, pet co-parents, and neighbors to join Pawscout.
Set up your device for Pawscout
If you don't have the Pawscout App, you can download it here (Android and iOS). Adding more than one pet or Tag? Jump to that section.
To ensure Pawscout works as intended, please give permission to the following when prompted in the App:
- ENABLE Bluetooth
- Location ALLOW
- Precise Location ALLOW
- Notifications ON
- Power Mode NORMAL
You can check these in Pawscout Settings. Select Profile, choose the Settings icon, and select Permissions. Learn more about Pawscout Permission Settings here.
Adding your first pet & tag
You are now ready to create a profile for your pet.
In the My Pets view, choose the Add a Pet icon. The Pawscout App will walk you through making your pet's profile, including the process for pairing their Tag.
Follow the simple steps to create your pet's profile.
We recommend pairing a pet’s Pawscout Tag when you create their profile. However, if you need to pair a Pawscout Tag for a pet that shows doesn’t have one, it’s easy:
- Select the pet from the My Pets screen.
- Choose Open Profile.
- Select Pair Tag.
If you have any trouble setting up your Pawscout Tag, contact support@pawscout.com and they'll be glad to help! You can also contact Support from inside the App:
- Select Profile on the bottom right
- Choose the Tool icon on the upper right
- Select Help -> select Contact Support
Adding another pet & tag
From your My Pets view, choose the Add Pet icon to create another profile. The next time you go to My Pets, you’ll be able to see what all your furry friends are up to.
Sharing your pet with other Pawscout users
Remember, Pawscout Tags can only be paired to one account. If you want to share your pet with a friend, family member, or other pet co-parents, invite them to become a Guardian from your pet’s profile.
